Since 2017, Water Flight pulled itself out of loserhood and has been one of FR's most active dominance flights, consistently ranking above average in terms of first placements over the course of the year and typically winning first place dominance 5 or 6 times. In population surveys as well as total account numbers, we are the third smallest flight, giving us a ratio multiplier advantage against everyone that isn't Fire or Earth.

In the most recent years, we have decreased the frequency of our pushes slightly to accomodate more content and experimentation to alleviate stagnation.

As you can see from the dates here, battles are happening less frequently as costs rise. An intense battle can cost upwards of 1 billion treasure, and even lower-intesity competitions can come with a price tag of several hundred million. Water has tried to maintain a schedule of 1 battle every 2 years, when a willing opponent can be found.

To fill the gap between real battles, we engage in several other types of interesting pushes.

• Team vs Team where we divide ourselves up and have an internal contest.
• Impromptu scuffles were we escalate our dom efforts to try and cause board flips on an otherwise calm week.
• Data experiments where we keep careful track of information to try and learn more about how the algorithm works.
• Friendly themed collaborations with other flights.
